Gateway Success Stories 2008

2004-2005

  • Paul Jarrett
    Paul Jarrett was placed at BDS Doors- (Building Industry Training) in early 2004 and was offered an award-winning apprenticeship job there. In late 2008 Paul and his company were spotted in the Porirua newspaper for their fantastic success.

  • Feagai Feaunati
    Feagai Feaunati was placed at the Inland Revenue Department in Wellington in early 2005. Feagai worked in administration and loved every moment of it there. He worked extremely hard and was offered full time work

  • Christopher Brownie
    Christopher Brownie was placed at Mana Coach Services in early 2005. Christopher combined his automotive placement with study through local Metro Ford Training School. Christopher was offered full time work and his tertiary study was all paid for from Mana Coach Services.

  • Aotea College
    In 2005 Aotea College was awarded the Porirua City Business Award for Outstanding Effort in the Development of Education Business Partnerships.

    2006/2007

  • Brad
    Brad was placed at TruPrint & Design in early 2006. Brad worked as a web designer and was very successful in all he did. Brad went to Australia for his success and wrote many things about his travel there and back. Brad was also offered full time work

  • Jasmine Leota
    Jasmine Leota was placed at Toi Whakaari, New Zealandânds Drama School in early 2007. Jasmine did drama and enjoyed it so much she was awarded an scholarship at Whitireia Polytechnic: Bachelor of Arts (Performing Arts)

  • Chanel-Maree Plicher-Landgraf
    Chanel was placed at Inland Revenue Department in Wellington in early 2007. She was a very successful student and was offered full time work but turned it down for a scholarship she was awarded: A Bachelor in Information Technology Studies at Whitireia Polytechnic. She was also awarded the Aotea College Blairgowrie Trust Cup for her outstanding commitment to gateway.

    2008

  • Holly Magson
    Holly Magson was placed at Inland Revenue Department in Wellington in early 2008. Holly worked in the BMS Team in recruitment as Team Leader Development Programme Administrator for the September course. She continued on working for the administration for the BMS Team and has enjoyed every moment of it there. Holly's year at Inland Revenue has been a real success and very enjoyable and Holly will hopefully have full time work by the end of the year.

  • Ala'a Hussein Ala'a Hussein was placed at the ESR (Environmental Science and Research) in early 2008. Ala'a is fulfilling her dreams in the industry of science and has enjoyed every moment of it. Ala'a now knows what she wants to do when she leaves school at the end of the year and has really loved her experience. Ala'a was also offered holiday work.
