It's never too early to start exciting young people about the working world and presenting science, technology, health and enterprise in the real world context.
For the last nine years we have worked consistently with primary and intermediate schools, bringing scientists, researchers and experts into the classroom to facilitate experiments, research and environmental projects relevant to our local community.
We have faciliated a number of partnerships between local schools and organisations like ESR, Opus, GNS and NIWA. Students have looked at the health of local eco systems, forensics, climate change and global warming. Each year we bring together such partnerships to benefit our local students.
I get a big kick out of helping make science and technology more accessible and seeing the glint of interest and possibility kindled in their eyes"
