Recent Partnerships
The Institute of Environmental Science and Research (ESR)
worked with Year 7 & 8 students from Plimmerton School, introducing them to the world of forensic science. ESR scientists visit the school for several sessions and provided the students with an opportunity to see first hand how forensic science works.
Bishop Viard and Porirua City Council
Bishop Viard College Year 8 students looked at waste management with a trip to the landfill and to Trash Palace. From here the students continued to plant an area of Kenepuru stream that had an extreme makeover in 2006 and also to look at ways waste can be managed and minimised in their own school.
Paremata School and Porirua City Library
In another continued relationship the students looked at digital reviews. Students would visit the library on Friday mornings during the project and on completion they presented their digital book promotions to their peers and had a power point display in the library.
Rangikura School and Geological and Nuclear Science Project
An extension activity investigating global warming and climate change.
