Previous and Current Funding
Since its establishment in January 2000 Partners Porirua funding has been by way of grants from Porirua City Council, Partners New Zealand, The Royal Society of New Zealand, Lion Foundation, Mana Community Grants and most recently an ongoing contract from the Ministry for Social Development for the delivery of Youth Transition Services in Porirua.
In its relationship with the Porirua City Council, Partners Porirua contributes to the Council's objective of promoting and facilitating closer working relationships between the business and education sectors, and enhancing the education and aspirations of students within the compulsory education system.
Partners Porirua also actively supports the implementation of Council’s Economic Development Strategy through promoting and facilitating closer working relationships between the business and education sectors in Porirua through the development of partnership relationships.
The council expects Partners Porirua to deliver its Business Plan including active involvement and participation in:
Supporting initiatives that encourage greater exposure to local students and teachers to future employment opportunities
Supporting the implementation of an economic development strategy for the City
Responding to the implementation of the WRS (and the Wellington Regional Labour Market Strategy) in delivering on the proposed Regional Strategy for Porirua City.
